Bunga's radiant orange flowers highlight the lighter interiors of Black Beauty's velvety deep maroon blooms, which are so dark they appear nearly black. Midnight Blossom Blend features Gladiolus spp. varieties, also known as gladiolus, glads, or sword lilies, that are tender perennials in Zones 7-10. Plant these gladiolus in clusters in beds, borders, or containers for the most vibrant display. They're ideal for cutting gardens or rock gardens and may require staking in windy areas to support their tall stems.
These gladiolus are easy to grow, thriving in full sun to partial shade with nutrient-rich, well-draining soil. Amend sandy or clay-heavy soils with organic materials like bark or peat moss to improve moisture retention and structure. Fertilize lightly after planting and again in summer. Water thoroughly at planting and consistently during growth and bloom periods to keep roots hydrated. Mulch to maintain soil moisture and keep the soil cool.
