Gladiolus Emerald Snow Blend Bulbs

Emerald Snow Blend features two dazzling gladiolus varieties, Green Star and Sapporo, for a bold and vibrant color combination. Growing 40 to 60 inches tall, their stately stems rise above fans of long, strappy leaves, creating a striking presence in any garden. Green Star's bright green blooms contrast beautifully with Sapporo's red-centered pink and yellow flowers, making these gladiolus a standout choice for borders, beds, or containers. With their long-lasting blooms, they're equally stunning in vases or floral arrangements.

Emerald Snow Blend consists of Gladiolus spp. varieties, also known as gladiolus, glads, or sword lilies, that are tender perennials in Zones 7-10. For the best display, plant bulbs in clusters in garden beds, cutting gardens, or even rock gardens. In breezy areas, staking may be necessary to support the tall flower spikes.

These gladiolus are easy to grow, thriving in full sun to partial shade with rich, porous soil that drains efficiently while holding enough moisture for healthy roots. Amend sandy or clay-heavy soils with organic materials like bark or peat moss to improve texture and water retention. Fertilize sparingly after planting and again in midsummer to encourage lush growth and abundant blooms. Water deeply at planting and regularly throughout the growing season. Mulch to help retain moisture and maintain even soil temperatures.

Plant bulbs in spring after frost danger has passed, spacing them 4 to 6 inches apart and planting them 4 to 6 inches deep. For a prolonged bloom season, stagger plantings every two weeks. After blooming, allow the foliage to grow until it browns or frost nears. Lift, clean, and store the corms in a cool, dry location (40-50°F) until the next season.
